Drink red wine for a healthy heart?
Oui!
Well, maybe…
For many years, it has been thought that red wine was he prevailing thought. The research is inconclusive, and the initial studies were conducted on animals. (I volunteer for the human trials…IJS) many of my colleagues will agree that there is something in red wine that appears to help.
Enter Resveratrol.
Resveratrol is a polyphenol (a type of antioxidant) that appears to help prevent damage to blood vessels, reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol, prevents blood clots, and may play a role in reducing inflammation.

So instead of “Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!” perhaps we should start saying “Eat, Drink, and Be Heart Healthy!”
I’ll drink to that! Cheers!
